K-pop boy band phenomenon BTS are no strangers to breaking music and social media records, but have most recently achieved a pretty mind-blowing feat. After releasing their new music video for "Idol", the group now holds the record for most-viewed video within 24 hours on YouTube, dethroning Taylor Swift's "Look What You Made Me Do."
According to ET Online, BTS's "Idol" brought in over 45 million YouTube views in the first 24 hours of its release. Swift's video, which famously debuted during the 2017 Video Music Awards, clocked in at just over 43 millions views in a day.
This is probably just the beginning of major recent successes for the boy band, as their new album Love Yourself: Answer was released on Friday. Nicki Minaj, who is featured on a remixed version of "Idol," showed her support for the boys with a sweet Instagram post reading, "US iTunes All Genres Chart 😊😩 they did NOT come to play wit y’all 🤣. My version of #Idol with #BTS is out now! Congrats to them on a great new album. I’m honored to be a part of it. S/O to #KOREA ‼️"
