Mozilla Employee Claims Google Makes YouTube Intentionally Slow On Firefox And Edge Browsers

Google may be intentionally making YouTube slower on browsers that aren't Chrome, and we now know that thanks to Mozilla's Technical Program Manager. Chris Peterson took to Twitter to make the claim, which alleged YouTube can run up to five times slower on Firefox and Edge browsers (via Tech Radar):

YouTube page load is 5x slower in Firefox and Edge than in Chrome because YouTube's Polymer redesign relies on the deprecated Shadow DOM v0 API only implemented in Chrome. You can restore YouTube's faster pre-Polymer design with this Firefox extension: https://t.co/F5uEn3iMLR

Google haters will agree this is a slimeball move, although one could also say it makes sense that a website runs best on the software the company who owns it makes. Me? I already use Chrome so I can't really make a comparison. Firefox and...Edge users (if there are any), have you noticed YouTube loading slower for you than other sites?
